Has a ladies only option?
Yes
A beginner aerial yoga class introduces students to using a silk hammock for support, balance, and mobility.
It combines elements of traditional yoga, acrobatics, pilates and Iyengar yoga to enhance flexibility, strength, and relaxation while being gentle on the back and joints.
It is perfect for your back and is a more physically focused class.
Sometimes an image is worth a thousand words.

What to expect
We introduce grounded yoga asanas modified to use the silk as we help you build trust in the hammocks.
You will learn basic grips and positions while we work to build the strength and flexibility required for a more advanced class.
We also practice gentle inversions to get used to the experience of being suspended.
Core skills are learning to listen to cues, comfort in the hammock, arm strength, hip flexibility and core strength.

Who should join this class?
Using aerial silks, we can help accelerate your flexibility and upper body strength while protecting your joints, especially your knees and back, more than traditional yoga.
The practice is excellent for helping decompress and straighten your spine. It is also quite a bit more adventurous once you get into the hammock.

As you gain confidence we will introduce our basic inversions to get you comfortable with your balance and the feeling of looking at the word from a different perspective.

The silk supports your body to guide your alignment, while also helping you gain deeper stretches. Very similar to what is seen in Iyengar yoga. The teacher is always there to help.

Using the silks change which muscles are engaged in traditional asanas. Additionally, the pressure of the silk takes time to get used to.
