In anticipation of the moon sighting tonight, we wish everyone a blessed Ramadan.
May you break your fast with those precious to you and find joy in the social experience.
It has been proven time and time again that the number of social connections we have is a strong indicator for happiness and health. We hope you make the most of the month.

Memory and exercise
Did you know that exercise supports your memory and do so throughout your life?
Specifically aerobic exercise, which uses your large muscle groups. Aerobic exercise increases the oxygen flow and use in your body. It is rhythmic, repetitive and increases your heart rate to a medium level.
Aerobic activity flushes our brain with beneficial chemicals, which helps our ability to answer questions, control emotions and improve memory. In fact, exercise releases a chemical that helps the hippocampus grow new brain cells.
It is a pretty unique area of the brain that gains growth benefit from exercise and the part that controls memory functions.
The bigger and healthier the hippocampus, the more resistant you are to diseases like alzheimer’s and dementia.
We all need around 150 minutes of aerobic exercise a week, ideally 30 minutes every day or three of our yoga sessions a week. Trying to do 150 minutes in one go is not as beneficial as regular activity.
The study that tried to get the most specific answer on what amount of time is required for memory benefit, suggested 45 minutes three times a week, which is exactly what we recommend as a minimum for our sessions.

The wonderful news is that you gain benefit regardless of age. Studies have shown that exercise helps even at 90 years of age. Additionally, the more regularly you exercise the more your long term benefit in emotional state and ability to focus.
Even though you gain benefit immediately, the most benefit is seen when you practice consistently for at least six months, ideally the whole year.
What is the best exercise? The one you enjoy. Especially with people that you can socialise with.
In our studio, we design different classes for different needs, with some like Hatha Vinyasa, Inside Flow, aerial and TRX more focused on aerobic benefit.
All of them are with wonderful people that you can enjoy your time together. If you are uncrtain, bring a friend that helps you remain motivated.
In yoga, we not only move, we practice focus and meditation. Themselves exercises that make us more stable and “smarter”. We’ll visit those topics in the future.
Further schedule updates
Just after we released our rRamadan schedule, some of our guests pointed out that the evenings stagger, which does not help them during Ramdan. So obvious, but in our running around we missed it.
The new schedule is available below and updated in the system.

Remember to eat healthy, exercise and laugh as much as possible during the month!
Ramadan Kareem
